Shree Vidyadhiraja College maintains a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards ragging. Any form of ragging is strictly prohibited and will result in severe disciplinary action including expulsion from the college and legal proceedings.
As per the UGC guidelines, our institution has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee for the prevention of incidents of ragging on campus.
Ragging constitutes one or more of the following acts: any conduct that has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness; any act that causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm; asking students to do acts that have the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame; any act of financial extortion; any act of physical abuse; any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of students.
It shall be the duty of the Anti-Ragging Committee to ensure compliance with the provisions of UGC Regulations 2009 on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions.
The committee also will monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in the prevention of ragging in the institution.

Receive and address complaints of ragging, conduct impartial inquiries, and recommend appropriate disciplinary action against offenders.
Organize awareness programs, workshops, and orientation sessions for students, parents, and staff about anti-ragging policies and consequences.
Implement preventive measures including surveillance, regular patrolling, and monitoring of vulnerable areas and times on campus.
Provide counseling and support to victims of ragging and ensure their safety and well-being during and after the complaint process.

The Anti-Ragging Squad operates under the supervision of the Anti-Ragging Committee and is responsible for:
Patrolling during college hours

The University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, mandate all institutions to constitute Anti-Ragging Committees and Squads.
Ragging is a criminal offense under Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant laws. Offenders can face imprisonment, fines, and other legal consequences in addition to institutional disciplinary action.
Note: The institution reserves the right to impose any or all of these penalties based on the severity of the offense. Parents/Guardians will be informed and may also face consequences.

Every student must submit an Anti-Ragging Affidavit during admission as per Supreme Court directives. Failure to submit will result in cancellation of admission.

Contact the Convener or any committee member directly in person or via phone.
Submit a written complaint in sealed envelope to the Anti-Ragging Committee office.
Use the anonymous complaint box placed at strategic locations on campus.
Send SMS or email to the official anti-ragging contact numbers/email ID.
The identity of complainants is kept strictly confidential. Protection is provided against any form of victimization. False complaints will also be dealt with severely as per UGC regulations.
