In pursuance of UGC Regulations, 2015 read with Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is constituted to deal with the complaints relating to sexual harassment at workplace.
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is a statutory body established under the law to prevent, prohibit, and redress instances of sexual harassment at the workplace. It serves as a vital mechanism to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all women in the campus.
Sexual harassment includes any unwelcome sexually determined behavior such as physical contact, demand for sexual favors, sexually colored remarks, showing pornography, or any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature.
Where sexual harassment occurs as a result of an act or omission by any third party or outsider, ICC shall take all steps necessary and reasonable to assist the affected person in terms of support and preventive action.

Operating under established legal provisions
The University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations of 2015 mandate all higher educational institutions to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee to address complaints of sexual harassment.

All ICC proceedings are conducted with utmost confidentiality. The identity of the complainant, respondent, witnesses, and all proceedings are kept strictly confidential as per legal requirements.
ICC shall comply with the procedure prescribed in UGC regulations 2015 and the Sexual Harassment Act
Written complaint can be submitted to ICC Chairperson or any committee member within 3 months of incident.
ICC conducts preliminary inquiry within 7 days to determine if prima facie case exists.
If prima facie established, formal inquiry begins within 90 days with recording of statements.
Inquiry report submitted within 10 days of completion. Appropriate action taken within 60 days.
ICC shall comply with the procedure prescribed in the aforementioned UGC regulation 2015 and the sexual harassment act for inquiring into the complaint in a time bound manner.
